| Summary: | On Thursday, November 17th, MAGNY will host John Young, the court-appointed receiver of the Jefferson County wastewater system, as the featured speaker for the third luncheon of the 2011-2012 season. Mr. Young was appointed receiver in September 2010 following the County’s default on $3.2 billion of sewer-related debt. John is a nationally recognized expert in water utility operations and engineering. Prior to becoming receiver of the system, Mr. Young spent over thirty years working with American Water, where he ultimately became Chief Operating Officer in 2005 and President of American Water’s Service Company. In his current role, John is tasked with restoring the viability of the Jefferson County sewer system and has been integral to the ongoing negotiations between the County and its creditors. Please join us to hear Mr. Young discuss his work in tackling this challenging situation. |
